Since 2021, Hyundai Motorstudio Busan continually presents exhibitions reflecting its concept, “Design to live by,” exploring life-enriching design innovations. Most recently from 2022 to 2023, Hyundai Motorstudio Busan presented its fourth exhibition “Habitat One” featuring a collection of sustainable housing solutions for the future under its annual theme ‘Shelter.’ This exhibition, “Home Stories,” delves into how the culture of home life has evolved over the past century, demonstrated through 20 interior design innovations prepared by Vitra Design Museum. “Home Stories” also highlights the increasing significance of mobility, which is rapidly becoming an integral element of new living spaces - especially in today’s era where the boundaries of space are gradually fading. The exhibition takes visitors on an immersive journey - starting off with a peek into the future with the IONIQ SEVEN concept car, then traveling through a 100-year timeline, and finally concluding with “Under a Flowing Field,” the latest work by London and Tokyo-based design studio, Studio Swine. Made from the same materials used in the SEVEN concept, “Under a Flowing Field” offers a unique shelter space where visitors can enjoy an artistic vision of the future of mobility. Co-organized by Hyundai Motor and the Vitra Design Museum, “Home Stories” invites visitors to experience how life at home has changed over time with the development of new ideas and technologies - as well as envision the fundamental role of mobility in future residential spaces.
