Writer Im Ji-bin's EVERYWHERE Project, which gives artistic inspiration to tired daily lives, has visited Lotte World Tower. Lotte World Tower will hold "Summerest 2023" at World Park from August 4th and display Im Ji-bin's super-large Bear Balloon works. Writer Im Ji-bin is famous for the "Everyware Project" that installs bear-brick balloon bears in numerous cities such as the United States, Europe, and Asia. Verbalun, installed in guerrilla form throughout the city, is a new form of public art that transforms desolate urban spaces into art without having to visit art galleries. In general, Bear Balloons travel around the world in size of 5-6 meters, but in Summerest 2023, they especially present 12-meter super-large Bear Balloons to deliver greater pleasure. The writer newly produced a yellow bear balloon for "Summerest 2023" and put the word "REST" in the eye area. Through this, I would like to share the meaning of resting and enjoying together while recalling happy memories.
ABOUT ARTIST
Im Jibin satirizes modern society by parodying ‘Bear Brick’, a type of art Toy. He is one of Korea's leading young artists who showcased the installation of a bear balloon called "You're Not Alone" on Gangneung Gyeongpo Beach to commemorate the Pyeongchang Paralympics. Large balloon works, located in unexpected places such as rooftops, door gaps, and walls, provide a magic that turns everyday life into an artistic space.
